Christopher Kombe

As an Executive Director Christopher brings a remarkable skillset and experience to the business. As the former Head of Sales and Marketing of Sancare, a Medical Insurance Division under Sanlam, one of the largest insurance firms in Zambia, and prior to that the Team Leader of Life Sales at Madison Life Insurance, Christopher has been recognised in the Zambian market as an achiever and opinion leader in the insurance sector. His BA (Hons) Degree in Marketing obtained from the University of Greenwich (UK) has stood him in good stead in his delivery of client-centric service throughout his career.

With 28 years’ experience in sales and sales management in several business sectors, including healthcare, IT, and consulting services, Rensia is considered a specialist in business development, sales management, and account management. Having started her career with some of the largest global pharmaceutical companies, including GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer, she has proceeded to work in the healthcare IT sector and ultimately her own performance company, SalesBox, providing sales management services to some of the most prominent South African organisations.

Mwenya Kapasa

Having completed her LLM Corporate and Finance Law at the Westminster University (UK), Mwenya has furthered her studies in both Zambia and the UK, holding a Post-Graduate Diploma in Legislative Drafting from the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education as well as a Grad-ICSA membership with the Institute of Chartered Secretary and Administratorship in the UK. Working with the National Council for Construction and the National Pension Scheme Authority, Mwenya’s extensive legal experience makes her an essential contributor to Buttress Brokers in her capacity as Company Secretary.

Henk van der Merwe


With more than 20 years experience in senior management positions in the insurance and information technology sectors, and as one of the founding members of Liberty Health Africa, Henk offers a wealth of expertise in the sourcing, development and implementation of employee benefit solutions and administration systems for global and local companies operating in Africa. Henk’s extraordinary achievements working with some of the largest multinational firms and insurance carriers in the world over the last 25 years have earned him a well-deserved reputation for customer service excellence.

Jane Mulenga

As non-executive director and Chairman of Buttress Brokers, Jane brings strong business acumen to the company. Currently the Managing Director of Max Zambia, Jane has successfully acquired a retail franchise license for the Southern Africa region. She is also the Managing Director of A&J Interiors (t/a Luxury Home Ltd) and the C&A Finance Services Bureau de Charge Limited. Prior to this Jane has pioneered the first international franchise store for the Mr Price Group SA, expanding to four stores in Zambia. Jane holds a BA Economics (Credit) degree from the University of Zambia and is also in the process of completing her MBA from the Warwick Business School in the UK.
